'King of the Road' was one of the small selection of 'singles' my parents had when I was growing up, though I was never really sure where these came from as they never seemed to buy any records (at least none that weren't by Jim Reeves!)
I feel therefore I was indoctrinated by Roger Miller's, "trailers for sale or rent," from an early age. Not quite sure how that (eventually) led me to write a musical themed novel, serialised on Substack at https://challenge69.substack.com
But why not give it a try, with a story centered around a music obsessed protagonist it feels like it could be right up your street.
