This was fascinating. Due to my age, I mostly only know of Stevie Wonder's timeless classic singles and have listened to Songs in the Key of Life several times. This piece has shown me I have some more research + listening to do!
Would love to have had the performance of 'Shoo-Be-Doo-Be-Doo-Da-Day' from the documentary on the soundtrack but there are other live performances from the period released that give a sense of Wonder's force as a live performer.
How does an 11-year-old blind kid, get a start like that. Absolutely amazing. What an amazing person too. He came down to New Zealand some years ago as an influencer, to help launch a product called Sendero which is a talking navigation system for blind people. Good to remember sometimes that we are all multifaceted.

Thanks for reading it and enjoy the upcoming Stevie Wonder listening!
This album and music of my mind where two important albums that showed a different side of Stevie Wonder! Songs were longer and funkier!
They take the music far away from the Motown formula, even more so than Marvin Gaye's work at the time.
Stevie was awesome in the doco of the '69 'Summer of Soul' [unfortunately his performance not included in the OST, which is also tremendous]

It's a cliche but Stevie Wonder is one-of-a-kind, but then if it's true, it's not really a cliche.
