A collaboration that I knew I needed! Two of my favorite Substack writers weaving together personal narrative with deep research turned this story into a heartfelt and loving tribute. It seems, from your research, that McBride’s legacy hadn’t been properly cared for until now. What a touching sentiment to breathe new life into his work.
Thanks so much. McBride's recorded legacy is very scattered. His music is a bit too middle-of-the-road for me but no matter, I often complain when music writers and podcasters malign music without providing proper context or thought so this was a nice corrective to that approach.
Thanks so much, Jami! That's so kind. We writers sometimes have a hard time "letting go," and I must admit to some initial trepidation in even proposing my 2¢ to Robert, even though it was rare personal knowledge and experiences!
So, absolute mad props to Robert for "letting me in" to his world of impressively thorough and enviable writing chops. I'd wanted to share my Dale story for a while, but there's no way I felt I could really do justice to the main career overview that Dale's story needed and deserved.
To have my personal notes attached to Robert's expert career layout makes perfect sense, and again, he deserves all credit for his generosity in allowing my contributions to share his page. Were they still with us, I know Mom and Dale would be pleased and proud.

Thanks again, Robert.
Thank you, Brad, for the very kind words and for thinking of me to contribute to this story.
