Another great issue! 👏 I'm happy to learn something new about such iconic band. Somehow I haven't heard many of the songs you've mentioned. Btw, so cool you added YouTube links. Thanks to you I saw their faces for the first time.
Very enjoyable and informative read, Robert! Made me realize I haven't really spent much time with M&P album cuts! I've always appreciated their melodies, and John's vocal arrangements (I agree with your mentioning him in the same breath as personal hero, Brian Wilson!), but drives home the fact I've really only ever heard their singles!
Also appreciated was more clarity on their dysfunctional interpersonal traumas, laying the groundwork, apparently, for Fleetwood Mac's epic adventures in adultery a decade later! Thanks again, Robert! I appreciate your depth of analysis!
Thanks Brad. I was going to bring up Fleetwood Mac's Rumours at some point in my essay but decided not to. Good detective work noticing how The Mamas & The Pops foreshadowed it!
You betcha! And, I knew you were aware of FM's drama, but we all know we're writers first, and editors first-and-a-half! That would've been my call, too!

Thanks Stygi - so glad you enjoyed it!

Another fantastic deep dive! Funny how music so beautiful can come from such turbulence.
Thanks so much Kevin, as always!
